Schneider Electric Launches Enterprise Supply Chain Software to the Mining, Minerals and Metals Industries

  • SimSci Spiral Suite, a proven Petroleum industry solution for unified, enterprise supply chain management, has now been extended to the Mining, Minerals and Metals industries

LAS VEGAS, NV – Sept. 27, 2016 – Schneider Electric, the global specialist in energy management and automation, today announced its first release of SimSci Spiral Suite focused specifically on the Mining, Minerals and Metals (MMM) industries.

According to a 2016 research study conducted by Deloitte, mining companies constantly seek operational improvement as the shift to productivity and supply discipline continues. Historically, MMM organizations have used a combination of point solutions within various departments, such as planning and scheduling, and operations. Experts typically produce complex custom reports for the next step in the supply chain. Not only does this time-consuming process rely on a handful of tool experts, but it can also lead to miscommunication of key data and impede collaboration.

Now MMM businesses can now take advantage of SimSci Spiral Suite’s unique architecture, which has been developed from the ground up as a single unified solution reaching across the pit-to-port supply chain (See Figure 1). Specifically designed to eliminate the costly inefficiencies arising from legacy point solutions, SimSci Spiral Suite maximizes the value of collaboration across the enterprise.

Information can be shared easily between users as all activities are supported within a single application, with a single user interface and a single source of data enabling truly unified planning and scheduling.” explained Dr. Harpreet Gulati, Vice President of Trading, Planning & Scheduling, Schneider Electric.

“The result is a solution that enhances collaboration, better explores opportunities, reduces operational risk and the gap between planned, scheduled and actual results. With the introduction of this truly disruptive software to its portfolio, Schneider Electric extends its commitment to offering intelligent solutions that strive to help the MMM industries address key operational issues.”

SimSci Spiral Suite will be available for the MMM industries from September 30, 2016, giving businesses a new way to optimize performance and maximize profitability across the end-to-end supply chain.
